Apple TV

Pete and I have decided that we will be getting rid of our Dish Network and have purchased an Apple TV and will subscribe to basic cable for the local stations. AppleTV allows you to buy your favorite TV shows from leading networks — commercial free — and watch them in HD anytime you want without paying a monthly fee. That way we won't be paying for all of the channels that we do not watch, only what we want to see. You can also rent high-definition movies. It connects right to our itunes on our computer and we can shop the itunes Store, play music, and see digital photos in slideshows.
In light of the times, we figure any way to cut costs is a step in the right direction...

Kennedy went Pee Pee on the Potty!!

Last night after her bath, Kennedy went on the potty!! Pete and I were very excited, although we know that it may very well mean nothing and just be coincidence. Kennedy has been keeping very busy with her toys and coloring, I need to post some of her artwork on here. She also seems to be going through a growth spurt, I have never gone to the store so often for food that she likes! I feel like she eats from the time she wakes up until the time she goes back to sleep. Hopefully this will not last long!

Happy New Year!!

Happy New year!! We are looking forward to a great 2009! Last night we went to the Grimes' house and spent the evening playing cards until midnight. Would you believe Kennedy stayed up until 12:45 last night!?!?!?! I could not believe it, I thought she would crash by 9. Have you made any resolutions this year? My goal once again is to reduce my caffeine intake by cutting down on my beloved Mt. Dew, and try to start running, the goal being that it would be something that Pete and I can do together. Pete has resolved to finally complete his bachelors degree and try to transfer to the Navy so he can do their medical/psychology program. We will see how all of those goals progress throughout the year....

Today we are headed to Wilmington to purchase our new entertainment center. I had initially thought that the only Pottery Barn close enough to us was going to be in Raleigh or Charlotte, but to my surprise there is one in Wilmington, along with my fav store White House Black Market, so I am pretty excited.

Today Kennedy is 17 months old!! She is growing so fast I can hardly believe it. Lately she has been throwing lots of temper tantrums, which is no fun for us. Yesterday she had a meltdown that lasted about 20 minutes, all over her snack container!! I think I need to find a safe place to put her when she is having these temper tantrums because she throws herself onto the floor, into walls, and today into the bricks on the fireplace, which left a big cut on her tummy. Anyone know where I can find materials to create a padded room?? J/K... She is still slowly learning her words, I think she understands much more than she can actually say. I have been trying to work with her on the sign language as well, in hopes that if she can communicate with us she may not throw all the tantrums. Her favorite thing these days is coloring, she loves to color and again, often throws a fit if she sees her crayons and can not reach them. She is also obsessed with my swiffer, she pushes it around the kitchen while I cook dinner or clean up. I think next time she pulls it out I am going to put one of the pads on it, it might save me the task.
