sleep issues
So it seems that our problems getting Kennedy to sleep at night are getting worse. For about a week now, she has consistently gone to sleep at her bedtime, and then like clockwork wake about an hour later. It seems like she thinks it is a nap, rather than bedtime. Tonight she did not go down for the night until 11:00. I am hoping that maybe if I start her day earlier, maybe 5 or 6 in the morning, rather than 7 or 7:30, we will "trick" her into going to bed at the normal time because nothing else seems to be working. We have tried baths, warm bottles, letting her wear herself out playing or in her jumper, getting her outside for some fresh air, and nothing seems to help get her down for the evening. It works to get her to sleep, but only for an hour or so. It is oh so frustrating!

Yikes, I hate sleep issues! We had them forever with Jack. I hate to say the only thing that worked for us was letting Jack cry it out. When we went to him when he cried it became a habit, and it was never ending. He really wasn't in need of anything, and I really think he was just trying to get away with it. We actually didn't do CIO until he was maybe 10 or 11 months, and oh how I wish we had done it at like 6 months, when they say you can. It really did save us. He learned that it was bed time, and that you sleep all night long. After that he napped better too. It made a world of difference. I know you were in our living room listening to him cry plenty of times. He cried for an hour one time, and it was the hardest thing I ever did, but it really did resolve our sleep issues day and night.
Just last week he woke in the middle of the night for the first time in a long time. I went to him, and then he did it again same time the next night. It happened again on the third, but that time I let him cry, and we've been back to normal ever since. Thank goodness!
Oh, and if you do give it a try just make sure you stay consistant about it. Take one step back, and you'll be starting the entire thing over. We used the Ferber Method. Of course all babies are diff. I hope you get something to work.
