photos of the lot

Driving up to neighborhood, you can see houses in the distance. Our Lot, not the best photo. Our lot from the back. It starts where you see the trenchPossible Siding/ Brick Combination we are considering... what do you think?

Not much to see, but I thought I would post a few pics of the lot and neighborhood. More to come as things start progressing. We are picking out our colors tomorrow. That should be fun...

gymboree rise and shine

I have three 25% off coupons for this weekend's sale if anyone wants them. I can give you the codes if you want to purchase online, just let me know. Otherwise I can mail them to you, just let me know because the sale ends on the 22nd. Since I know we are going to be moving, I am not going to use them (I am already purchasing 3T size clothes for Kennedy, so I don't really need to buy her anything!)

New House

Yesterday was a very exciting day. Pete signed the papers to build a new home in the Carolina Forest neighborhood of Jacksonville NC. We picked out a corner lot and selected the home we liked best (that was in our price range anyways!). My anxiety has set in a little bit, worrying about making sure everything is set with the loan, but I am sure it will all be fine, it always is!
There are two changes we have made to the plan shown below. We are moving the fireplace to the corner of the great room to allow for some additional wall space and we are adding in a "keeping room" above the great room. That room will add about 170 additional square feet to the second floor. I will take some additional pictures as we go along as well so those who are not in town can see the progress.

taking a little time outdoors

We have been having some beautiful weather here lately and Kennedy is desperate to be outside as much as possible. As soon as she wakes up and we have finished her morning routine (diaper change, brush teeth, comb hair, etc) she grabs my index finger and leads me to the door, wanting to go outside to play. (Note, we are still in PJ's at this point). When I let the dogs out, she tries to escape onto the deck and runs around for a bit, I act surprised when she makes it onto the deck but she does this everyday... I always love the spring time when the weather starts to get warm, it is especially nice this year because Kennedy is seeing so many new things each day. I can not wait until it is consistently nice out, because she will not be a happy camper if she can not go outside now. We now have dedicated outdoor clothing and shoes as well. It seems that every time she goes outside to play she ends up with dirty knees and shoes. Some of which did not come out in the wash. Here are a few pictures I took the other day while we were outside.

18 Month Doctor Visit

Yesterday I took Kennedy to the pediatrician for her 18 month visit (I can not believe she is 18 months already). Kennedy screamed the entire visit! She must have bad memories from getting her shots every time she goes in. Through her screaming, the doctor did say that she looks great and he was very happy with her growth over the last few months. She is now 32 inches tall and 23.4 lbs (a three pound increase since her 15 month visit, and 1 inch gain in height). She was given three vaccinations (2nd portion of her flu, polio and tetanus).
Our camera broke a few weeks ago so we will be purchasing a new camera in the next week or so. Hopefully I will have some better photos to post soon.
