I feel so bad for Kennedy... she is cutting 6-8 teeth all at once. I say 6-8 because there are definitely 6, some have cut the gums already and some are bumps, that is why we are not sure how many are coming yet. She has been SOOO cranky the past few days!
Prior to these teeth, she had only 6, so she will be doubling her number of teeth at one time; hopefully it will be over soon ;)

fireplace

For some reason Kennedy seems to love our fireplace lately. She uses it has a seat and a place to play with her toys. I am going to have to find a way to keep her away from it, in the event that we use it this winter!!
She keeps pulling off my babyproofing fireplace guards, so I put a rug up there... Do you think it looks dumb?

baby and me gymnastics
We went to baby and me gymnastics this weekend, and Kennedy seemed to enjoy it :) They start out with a warm up and then there are 3 stations that the kids get to go to, along with them being able to explore the entire gym. Kennedy really liked the area where they were learning how to do summersaults (sp?) she would flip over and then start clapping. They had another area for beam- I think she was a little young for this part, she didnt really get it, but hopefully in time she will watch the other kids and figure out what she is supposed to do. The other area was the uneven bars, they had three different stations in that area where you show them different ways to hold on to the bars, she liked flipping on the bars too. I think we will take her again, she seemed to enjoy it and I think it is great for her to be around other kids. There were probably 20 kids there, all around her age.
We spent the rest of the weekend sick. What a way to spend the last weekend of summer.

The babysitter Jennifer came today, and everything went really well. She had her 5 month old daughter with her, which I think helped. Kennedy was so interested in the baby that when I left to go upstairs she did not seem to care, normally she would have been upset (still has remnants of the separation anxiety). I finished my conference call around 12:30 and laid Kenzie down for her nap (she is only taking one nap a day now) and she slept for 4 hours! A great day overall.
Tomorrow we are taking her to baby and me gymnastics, I am so excited, I really hope she enjoys it. If she seems to like it they have several classes each week that I could take her to, or we can all do it together on Saturdays at 11. I think it might be something that we can all enjoy together, and possibly meet some other families with kids Kennedy's age.
Pete's soccer team won again on Thursday... yeah!! go green :)

walking
Kennedy is really walking very well now. It has taken her a little while to really get going but she seems to have found her balance and is starting to move very quickly! I think that I might try out a sitter this week for a few hours while I am on a conference call. I feel like it will be good for both of us. I Posted a "job" on sittercity and received a response pretty quickly from a lady with a 4 month old, she said she would have to bring the baby with her, but she is available. I will probably wait until later tonight and see if I recieve any other responses, but otherwise I will probably try her out.

Saturday Morning Suprise!!
Well Hanna passed by us this morning. The winds were very strong, however we did not get a whole lot of rain, thank God, because the wind caused enough damage... We were woken up about 6 am by a loud noise, we looked around the house and sort of wrote it off as thunder. I got up and watched the weather, because at that time the wind was really blowing very hard. It slowed down around 8am and I went outside to check things out. I turned the corner off of the deck and immediately realized what had made that loud noise last night, a tree had fallen and hit the house!!! I then ran inside and grabbed the camera and checked all of the rooms in the house for interior damage, luckily all of the damage in the house was in the stairway and did not affect any of our bedrooms. Had it fallen about 5-10 feet to the right it would have landed right on our bedrooms. I quickly woke Pete up (Kennedy was already awake) and we called the property manager. She came out within about 15-20 minutes and immediately had people out to repair the damages, she was wonderful. It is now 3:30, and the tree has been cut up and hauled away and all of the mess that it left is now gone; Men have come and measured the roof which has to be repaired from the tree branches that came through it, and all of the holes have been temporarily patched up. Talk about an exceptional response!! Lets just hope that Ike stays on course and does not come our way this week too...

this is what I saw first, and thought we lost a small tree....

this is the tree that fell

side view, you can see where it hit the gutters and roof

We didn't really do to much over labor day weekend, pretty much just stayed home and relaxed. It was nice, but hopefully the next three day weekend can be a bit more fun filled. Lexie was spayed on Friday, which was our main reason for staying in most of the weekend, she needed a little pampering. She is doing well, she has been sleeping a lot but seems to be tolerating everything well.
The other thing weighing on us now is hurricane Hannah, I have been watching the projected path very closely, wondering if we should leave for a few days or not. I guess I will just wait and see, but if they even mention evacuating I definitely think we will leave, I do not want to take any chances.
Kennedy is really developing a personality these days. She walked quite a bit today which was exciting. She LOVES her little people toys. We went this weekend and bought things with the gift cards she received for her birthday. We went to babies r us/toys r us and I thought I would walk down each aisle and see if anything caught her attention. We made our way down the little people aisle, and boom, she starts pointing, making faces and talking, wanting this little people barn yard toy, so that is what we bought. I think before too long we will end up with the whole little people town!!
