today's 12 month doctor appointment

Today I took Kennedy to her 12 month doctors appointment. Here are the stats:
31.5 inches- about 80th percentile
19.11 lbs - about 25th percentile

This was the first appointment where Kennedy's weight has been below 50th percentile. They also checked her iron levels and found those to be lower than average. I guess it is normal for this time because they are so busy getting into everything and really on the go. She did suggest some things that we can do to help put some more weight on her and get the iron levels up. Other than that she said that she looks great, she is right on task for her development and she was very impressed with how expressive and social Kennedy was. So overall it was a great check up.

fun filled weekend

this weekend was the most eventful weekend we have had in a while. My Dad was in town Friday and Saturday morning, before he headed to Charlotte to see my Uncle and Aunt. After he left we went to the NC aquarium. Its about 45 minutes from our house, and was quite nice. We joined to the Toledo Zoo while we were home, and the NC aquariums have a reciprocity with toledo so we got in for free ;) Kennedy loved watching the fish, turtles, etc swim around in their aquariums. It was especially nice because most of the aquariums are floor to ceiling so we could put her stroller right up to the glass and she could see everything we did.

Kennedy seems to be walking better and better each day, although she has not taken more than 8 or 9 steps at a time.

WALKING AND DRINKING...

Kennedy seems to do a bit better walking each day. Today she took about 5 steps consecutively, the most she has done so far. It seems at this point as if she finds crawling so much easier, so she does not have much desire to walk, at least not as often as we would like.

Spoons!!

Kennedy used a spoon for the first time yesterday, she did pretty well. I had not tried giving it to her until yesterday and was quite suprised when she was able to feed herself!!

3 steps

Kennedy took three steps on her own tonight!! She has been doing one or two but usually we have to get her started, but tonight she did them all on her own!! She is on her way, my baby isn't a baby anymore!!
